OCHWA: Health and community
The Oklahoma Community Health Worker Association is a Community Health Care Worker association operating out of Oklahoma. The goal is to reach the Oklahoma community and encourage communities to take charge of their health through education and advocacy. Currently, the OCHWA is creating a prostate cancer awareness campaign, and they asked my class to design some potential campaign materials for them.
My Process
For this project, I was the team lead. As team lead, it was my responsibility to ensure that everyone had the resources and materials needed to complete their part of the project. I was also responsible for ensuring that my team created designs that fit together as a cohesive unit and followed the project parameters.
There were many touchpoints that my team had to create for this project. I mainly worked on the guidebook and the two final presentations. This project was one of my favorites because I grew a lot as a designer and a person through this challenge. It was fun to learn how to work as a team in a design setting and to collaborate with others to create a cohesive design unit.
Final Design
For the final design, our clients wanted something inclusive. They wanted imagery that showed a wide range of men of various ages and races, as well as a theme that could tie it all together and make the material they were presenting more comfortable. My team and I chose Game Night as our theme because games bring people together and make them more comfortable with each other.
Below are some of the touchpoints that my team and I created. They all tie together through the theme, the inclusive imagery, and the simple, easy-to-read typography.
